Feeling her vintage heritage, Edmonton Consignment Specialist Mackenzie Simpson knows a thing or two about the past.
Who is your all time style icon?
My all time style icon would have to be Elsa Hosk. I am always admiring her outfits and pulling inspiration from her looks.
You are going for brunch with your friends, it’s a hot day in July, tell us about your outfit.
My brunch outfit would definitely be something colourful and fun yet easy to throw on. I have this green tennis skirt that I love which I would probably pair with my Dad's vintage baseball t-shirt and a royal blue sweater to throw over my shoulders. I always gravitate towards a chunky white shoe that goes with everything and my vintage Fendi purse as it's my go to bag.
What is your favourite brand and why?
My favourite brand would be Alexander McQueen. Every collection that comes out is even more jaw dropping than the one before. The SS22 collection is my favourite so far. The mixing of feminine and masculine silhouettes is so beautiful and every little detail just makes you appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.
What is something interesting about you people may be surprised to hear?
Something interesting about me is that all of my clothes I have now have either been thrifted or from vintage stores or passed down from my Grandma. My Grandma was a style icon, so I was very blessed to get all of her vintage jewelry and clothes which I rock everyday. I really love shoulder pads and funky designs as a lot of my fashion inspiration has come from the era my Grandma and mMom grew up in.
If your life was a song, which one would it be?
If my life was a song I think it would be Put Your Records On by Corrine Bailey Rae.
